Alarm
My alarm didn't ring.
Check that alarms are allowed for Out by Seven in iOS Settings › Out by Seven, and that your alarm time is set in the app (Me › Your routine). Keep the app installed and your phone charged. Alarms ring even on Silent and in Focus modes.
How do I stop the alarm?
Get up and scan the door or object you chose during setup. The alarm stops once the app recognises it. If you tap Apple's Stop button instead, the alarm comes back a minute later until you scan.
The app doesn't recognise my door.
Turn on a light and point the camera at the same part of the door you scanned in setup. If it still doesn't work, scan your door again in Me › Your routine, ideally in the same light as your mornings.
Outside and streaks
What counts as "outside by 7"?
Be outside before 7:00, or before sunrise if the sun rises later than 7, and take your morning photo in the app. The app checks you've left your home spot.
It's pouring with rain or it isn't safe to go out.
Use Rain Check or Not safe today on the Today screen. Your streak is paused, not lost. Never go outside if it isn't safe.
How do Rest Days work?
You earn Rest Days as your streak grows, and when a friend you invited reaches 5 days in a row. Claim one on the Today screen to take a morning off without losing your streak.
Friends
How do I add a friend?
Open the Friends tab and tap Send invite link. When your friend opens the link on an iPhone with Out by Seven installed, you appear on each other's leaderboard. Pull down on the Friends tab to refresh.
My friend doesn't show up.
Both of you need to be signed in to iCloud in iOS Settings, and both need a name in the app (Me › Your name). Then pull down on the Friends tab to refresh. Friends see your name, streak and today's progress, never your photos.
Subscription
How do I cancel?
Open iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Out by Seven › Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before your trial or current period ends to avoid being charged. Deleting the app doesn't cancel the subscription.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I got a new iPhone. How do I get my subscription back?
Sign in with the same Apple ID, open the app and tap Restore purchases on the subscription screen.
Your data
How do I delete my data?
In the app, go to Me › Delete everything. This removes your data from your iPhone and your friends profile from iCloud. See our Privacy Policy for details.
